     The Up North Journal Team has launched their new website and they invite you to stop by and check out the new digs! You can find it at the same ‘ol place: www.upnorthjournal.com you will find a new interactive video panel that will play their most current video and will eventually have the most current episode of their upcoming new video show. You will also be able to click the link to take you to the archive page of all their videos. Not only does it have the video player but it also offers an audio panel that has the most current episode of their podcast with a scrolling banner with an outline of the current show. The link below the player also takes you to an archive page of past episodes for download or playing right from the site.

     The site is not 100% completed but the important items are there, so keep looking for further updates to the site and bios on the prostaff pages. When your finished taking the tour, be sure to drop them an email and let them know what you think about the new digs!

     While at the show I met Nat Graves of Rip Shot, which I think might be the next must have item in the archery equipment line.  This device straps onto your draw arm and uses your exisiting trigger release head to get the job done.  It basically takes all the pressure off of your hand, wrist, and forearm when drawing your bow back.  Mr. Graves claims the Rip Shot will improve your shooting accuracy as well as making it easier to draw your bow.  It will also help a bowhunter that has a problem drawing a bow back.  Take a look at the video demonstration and interview below, if you want to view it in high quality follow the  links back to youtube and click on “view in high quality” on the link below the video player.

     Since I’m not a crossbow guru and due to the fact that I made a mistake on a recent PSE post I will let the video below speak for itself.  The video is all you really need to see anyways.  I did get the chance to shoot it and like I said, its plain radical!  Be sure to follow the links back to You Tube to watch in high quality, then click on the “view in high quality” button below the video player.

  Hoyt released it’s AlphaMax bow in October to the archery world, last week at the Archery Trade Association show in Indianapolis they debuted a new AlphaMax.  Hoyt has with joined Michael Waddell and is offering a pimped out “Bone Collector” special edition of the AlphaMax.  It sports a camo riser along with a blackened out limb package.  It also offers a clear view of Michael Waddell’s signature on the limbs to complete the look.

     If your looking for a pimped out bow and want a connection to the Bone Collector show, this might be the bow for you.  Matt Woodbury of Compass Outdoors and myself both shot the AlphaMax while we were at the ATA show in Indy last week.  It was extremely light weight which immediately caught my attention.  Upon drawing back the AlphaMax, it gives you a firm back wall for a consistent shot and confidence.  It isn’t as quick as the PSE Omen, but shooting in the 320′s it gets the job done.
