    Buy Your Hunting License Early In Minnesota

    A Jaguar Collared in Southern Arizona

         What was thought to be gone from the American landscape is now back!  Last week the Arizona Game and Fish Department captured and collared a Jaguar southwest of Tucson Arizona.  The Desert Rat Blog posted the article this weekend and you can find the rest of the article at his blogsite.

    Michigan License Fees Unchanged For 2009, Also Offer Gift Cards

    New Michigan hunting and fishing licenses for the 2009 seasons, which begin April 1, will be available for sale online, at local retailers and at Department of Natural Resources offices across the state starting on Sunday, March 1. License prices remain the same as 2008.

    Also available on March 1 for the first time is the ability to purchase DNR E-Gift Cards online, which can be redeemed for hunting and fishing licenses or snowmobile and off-road vehicle trail stickers. The E-Gift Cards are available in $15, $30 and $50 increments, and can only be used to purchase licenses online. They cannot be redeemed at retailers or DNR offices. Read the rest of this entry »

    Ducks Unlimited Land Purchase Denied

         The non-profit group Ducks Unlimited tried to purchase almost 600 acres of land in the prime duck area of Kidder County North Dakota, the land acquisition was blocked by the state’s Governor John Hoeven. Read the rest of this entry »

    Connecticut Legislators Propose Package of Anti-Gun Bills

    Possible 2009 Bear Hunt For Oklahoma Hunters

         House bill 1464 sponsored by R.C. Pruett, won unanimous approval in the Oklahoma state house last Monday.  The bill would pave the way for a fall black bear hunt in the southeastern part of the state.  If the bill passes it will allow hunters to persue the bruins in the four southeastern counties of the state with a quota of 20 bears for the season.     Dove Hunting Attacked Again in Rhode Island

    First Kentucky Black Bear Hunt In Over 100 Years

          

         Kentucky hunters will get the chance to hunt black bears later this year.  The Kentucky legislature approved a bear hunt for the state that will be the first time in over 1oo years since black bears have been hunted in the state.
