Ammunition Serialization Legislation Is Here!
Posted by MikeAdams on December 16, 2008
Last week I wrote a post about the ammunition serialization legislation that was being pushed in 18 states across the nation. Well I’m sorry to announce that it has now been presented to the Georgia legislature for consideration! I received an email from the NSSF Bullet Point newsletter yesterday about the issue and it is listed below along with links to the actual bill along with the list of Georgia legislators that should be contacted to oppose this bill!
BULLET SERIALIZATION THREAT IN GEORGIA . . .
that would mandate, as early as 2010, bullet serialization — the process by which each individual round of ammunition is identified and marked with a laser-engraved serial number — has been introduced by Sen. Ronald Ramsey, Sr. in the Georgia State Senate. NSSF has made clear that serializing ammunition on a mass production basis is not feasible from a practical standpoint and any legislation mandating such action could rightfully be considered a de facto ban on ammunition. NSSF is encouraging all sportsmen, hunters and firearms enthusiasts in Georgia to contact their state Senator and call the bill’s sponsor, urging them to strongly oppose SB 12. My friends those of you who said this would never happen, maybe will now believe that we are in a full fledged fight for our second amendment rights! It is high time that you write your representatives and also take the time to join the NRA! It costs only $10 to have a unified voice in Washington D.C. The louder the voice the more chance we will be heard! Take the time to join today! Who knows it may be your state they come after next! We will be keeping an eye on this issue and bring you any futher updates.

A sad sign of the times we are headed for. Everyone please get this message out and spread it to anyone willing to listen to just thirty seconds of how this must be defeated and never allowed. This action would drive many and most manufactures of ammunition out of business. It would place our second amendment rights on a back burner and the fire would soon be extinguished. We MUST remember history and folks We know history has and will repeat if we allow it to. Join and give memberships to the NRA and other pro second groups that help to fight the political machines often against most of us. If the day comes and a local gun collection force come knocking on your door…..what will we do then? I’m sad to think of the huge conflict and maybe even total civil war as an outcome? Think it can’t or wouldn’t ever happen? Ok, tell that to the Germans of WWII. I have great wealth of this information because I am German and Mom tells me her memory of her younger years under Hitler’s madness. I understand history and know the Italian’s and Russian’s and Korean’s can tell you about control by government in this manner. DON’T be a sideline sitter….get up and get into the action before the game is no longer our’s to play…and live….. Let your voice be a link in our chains that bond and show strength and unity….

I suggest getting your store to organize a massive rally at your state capital. If we don’t speak up as a threatening political force NOW, we will loose our rights for good. I tried to get Cabela’s in CT to take political action, but I was blown off and Obama swept the state. If we continue to remain silent, laws will be passed, people will loose interest in the sport and we will no longer be a force to be reckoned with. I really think that’s their plan. Make it so expensive and difficult to hunt and shoot that people will give up the sport. Shooters will become such a small percentage of the population that their vote will be meaningless. The Assault Weapon Ban is another attempt to accomplish this. The next ban will not have an expiration date, and once it is passed no politician will ever again vote to make these guns legal. Why would the average non-shooting citizen want to put these guns back on the street? It won’t happen and we will never again have the right to own these firearms unless some unforeseeable event happens that changes the thinking of the masses.

Scary times we are in. One of our greatest rights is being threatened in ways unimaginable to our Founding Fathers. Time for us to unite and stand up to be counted. We must not falter when it comes to protecting our freedoms.
