Well guys and gals, you’ve probably noticed that I haven’t posted in a couple of days and that I also haven’t posted a podcast this weekend on the Up North Journal site. We were hit early Sunday morning with a huge wind storm that knocked out power. It is now Monday evening and we still don’t have power! We probably won’t get it back until Wednesday, the way they are talking now. So If you don’t see many or any posts in the next couple of days, be patient, I will have plenty to write about once we get back up and running. As for now I’m posting this at work and will be checking in tomorrow from work also. Take care!

In a recent post I wrote a few random thoughts that were prevailing through my cluttered mind recently. One of those thoughts was “Why does the weather change every time I want to go hunting?” Today is no different, it is raining and the temps are in the 50’s. So much for ice fishing today or anytime in the near future for that matter. Read the rest of this entry »

It seems as if there is a website devoted to every activity there is now. Tent campers and RV campers are no exception. I stumbled across a website devoted to the camping world that covers everything from campsites, reviews, and recipes for the outdoor enthusiast.

I was sitting around pondering some thoughts today. Nothing major just a few random ideas going through my head, so I thought I would pass them along for all of you to ponder as well. Let us know your thoughts on the items below!
Why does it seem to switch weather when I want to hunt?
Why do hunters feel they have a right to the animals they don’t own, instead of it being a privilege?
Why does that buck stop just one step short of my range?
People should consider their season a success even if they don’t take home game.
We should be thankful for the time we got out into the field instead of complaining about the times we didn’t get out.
Practice makes perfect!
Why is it when a duck quacks it sounds like they are laughing at me?
Have you ever felt like the hunted instead of the hunter?
While hunting, did you ever wonder what it was like to be a hunter 200 years ago?
Do you ever worry about what hunting will be like 200 years from now?
