    Election Editorial

Posted by MikeAdams on November 11, 2008

Well it has now been a week since our presidential election and the world hasn’t ended, yet! Most sportsmen and women supported the losing side of the vote this year and with that being said, I wondered what do we do now.Well I received some encouraging words from a friend out east this week. My buddy Bob from The BR Shooting Journal kind of put things into perspective for me. Now is not a time to worry or run and hide. Now is not a time to blame anyone or talk badly about the winning side. Now is time to take action and try to maintain our way of life and prosperity for the hunting and shooting community.
Bob wrote an editorial for his blog this weekend and I thought his words of wisdom should be shared with others who read this blog as well. So with his permission I’m making it available for you:

    Editorial: The Election

I’m sure that if you are taking the time to visit my blog, you are as disappointed with the poor judgment of the American people as I am. There’s a few things that we need to be reminded of before we get down in the dumps over this. Though we were badly beaten by the electoral college, the popular vote was extremely close. Almost half of the country is as disappointed as we are and they continue to side with us. A good percentage of those who voted for Obama simply voted for ‘Change’ out of ignorance. They decided it was time to change an administration the same way that they change to another TV program. Most of his supporters did not say to themselves, “I want to change America from the country that brave men died for on Iwo Jima to a radical Socialist regime.” No. Most people simply don’t take the time to study the facts and consider the issues. They are more interested in last night’s football game than last night’s political breaking news. As one guy in work put it, “I voted for Obama because I didn’t want to elect an old guy.” People simply don’t think, and that’s the result of the entertainment-driven society that we live in. It’s work to keep up with what’s going on, and most people are simply too lazy.

The harsh reality is that we have to live with this guy as our president for the next 4 years. My hope is that when he is exposed to the TOP SECRET national security data, Obama will drop a duce and awaken out of the liberal academic fairy land they he has grown up in. He then might realize that if he doesn’t change course, the nation will be destroyed during his watch and a democrat won’t stand a snowball’s chance in hell of being elected for a generation.

For the past 8 years the left-wing congress has been doing everything in their power to undermine the Bush administration, the war and the economy. Why? In order to gain their power back. Isn’t it strange that when there is failure under a Republican president, the president becomes the fall guy instead of the Democrat congress that is also in control? If you do a bit of research you will quickly see that high ranking Democrats were responsible for the country’s financial collapse (follow the money), but because Bush was president, the Republicans took the heat. It’s no wonder considering the left-leaning bias of the TV news media which worked tirelessly as a propaganda machine to promote an Obama win. It amazes me that the left has the audacity to say that the nation needs to reinstitute the ‘Fairness Doctrine’ to balance talk radio?!! You will soon see that this regime wants to steal both our first and second amendment rights. Obama has stated that he feels that our Constitution is a flawed document that must be changed. It almost causes me to regret that unlike Obama, my father, brother and myself served in the military to protect the Constitution which this radical politician feels he has the right to destroy. The presidential oath demands that Obama swear to protect The Constitution of the United States!:

“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”

Remember that we represent half the country and a majority of the military. Stand firm for your first and second amendment rights. Don’t stand for the passage of the ‘Fairness Doctrine’. Take back the language! Call it, ‘The Political Censorship Doctrine’. In the state from which I write it is legal to purchase a long-arm from an individual without registration of any kind. Sell your registered guns to your friends and buy their guns. Registration tells the government where the guns can be picked up. Eliminate the paper trail if it is still legal in your state.

Fight! I am a cancer survivor. If was given a 40% chance of survival but with God’s help, I fought the disease and survived. We now have a cancer that is attacking our nation from the inside. Decide to survive and with God’s help we can beat this disease as well! God Bless America. ~Bob

“Well done! Now we need to start mobilizing people for the political fight of their lives.”

Thanks Tim. here’s something I wrote tonight:

If you guys don’t belong to the NRA, you MUST join TODAY!! There is NO EXCUSE and if we don’t act with strength NOW, we will loose ALL of our gun rights within months as England, Canada and Australia did. As Tom Gresham from GunTalk Radio said, “We are beyond words and changing hearts. We are in a knife fight in a phone booth”. We are fighting for our lives and if we don’t win this NOW, our 2nd amendment rights will no longer exist. All semi-autos will be banned (including semi-auto and pump action shotguns), and that ban will not expire. No more gun shows. Excessive tax increases on ammo will make guns too expensive to shoot. Concealed carry will be outlawed nationwide. Most gun shops will be forced to close due to new ATF regulations. And that will only be the beginning. Our one chance we have is to have the NRA march into congress with 10,000,000 votes (members) with the ability to say, “If you don’t do what we say, we will DESTROY your party in the 2010 elections.” Only political FEAR is what will cause change. I signed up my son Jamie this year, and I am also going to sign up my wife and daughter TONIGHT. RIGHT NOW IT WILL ONLY COST YOU ONLY $10 PER VOTE TO HAVE A VOICE. IF WE LET THIS LAST OPPORTUNITY DIE, OUR RIGHT TO PERSONAL PROTECTION WILL BE LOST FOREVER. JOIN THE NRA NOW!

IF YOU DON’T CURRENTLY OWN A GUN, remember the family that was raped and murdered in Cheshire CT last year. After that atrocity, numerous families in the area went out and bought guns to protect their homes. Imagine if they were told by the government, “NO, you cannot buy a firearm to protect your home. The only guns that are on the street are held by criminals.” Unthinkable yes, but a reality very soon if we do not take action NOW!!

OBAMA WILL ACT FAST ONCE SWORN INTO OFFICE. WE MUST ACT FASTER!

If your close to your renewal date on your CCW permits get moving. The last time a democrat held the executive office he took part in banning certain firearms. It could well be this next democratic executive may do same or even worse. The news also stated a few days ago that firearms sales have shot way up. If you can afford it and have a safe place to store another …….better buy what you can soon. The year 2009 will bring a lot of new changes.

Thanks for the very informative article Bob and Mike…..well put…
