Coyote Hunting Checklist
Posted by MikeAdams on July 1, 2008
A good friend of mine, Bob Rich from the Bob Rich Shooting Journal, has been after the coyotes this spring in Connecticut. He recently made a checklist of the things he carries into the woods with him on these hunts.
One thing that can make a hunt successful or a failure is making sure you bring everything with you. Forget one important item and that could be the end of your hunt. Recently I have started making checklists for the major hunts I go on. Bob has posted a nice checklist of items for the coyote hunting he does in CT. With his permission it is as follows:
FIREARMS
Rifle
Revolver and holster
Ammo (22LR)
10/22 magazines (4)
Gun cases
Shooting stick
CANVAS ITEMS
Blind and carrying bag
Blind poles (2)
Blind stakes (4)
Backpack
Chair
ATTRACTING DEVICES
Decoy (squirrel tails and wires)
Predator Bomb (3 cans):
- Fox
- Fawn
- Coyote
Electronic call:
- Speaker
- Extension wire
- Main unit
- Sound chips (3)
Mouth calls
PERSONAL ITEMS
Bug Spray
Basic first aid kit
Sunglasses
Glasses (if required)
Wallet
ELECTRONIC
Camera
Extra batteries (if required)
Cell phone

Extra socks and sneakers (Keep in car)
Towel (Keep in car)
Camo hat
Boots
Jacket (when required)
Blaze vest (when required)

Munchies
Now you might have some different items to put on your checklist, but this gives you a nice start on a checklist to ensure you don’t forget those important items for the hunt. Go over to Bob’s web site “The Bob Rich Shooting Journal“ to check out how he has been doing this spring in the woods. If you have other items you think should be included on the list drop us a line or drop Bob a line on his blog.
