Tomorrow, the boys and I are heading just south of Detroit, MI to help the Michigan DNR band geese.  The offer came up a couple of weeks ago on a outdoor forum page, so I thought this would be a great learning experience for all of us.

      It should prove to be an exciting time for the three of us.  A friend of mine is also going with us.  I hope we get to learn quite a bit about the whole banding process, as well as some of the information that the DNR obtains from it.  We always seem to take from our resources, I thought that this would be a good way to show the boys that we need to give back to the outdoors as well.  We need to be good stewards of the resources that we so enjoy.  I’m going to take the video camera along as well as the digital camera.  I hope to have video and pictures to share when we get home.  Stay tuned for further updates on what we learn this weekend.
