What I Want For Father’s Day - Hooks & Bullets - Follow us through the woods and waters of Michigan

What I Want For Father’s Day

Posted by MikeAdams on June 14, 2008

I got to thinking about what I would like for Father’s Day.  I thought I would compose a list of the top things I think I deserve or want!!

I’m going fishing in the morning with my boys on the river so solitude is number one.

    1.  Solitude

    2.  To spend the day with the kids

    3.  A basket full of catfish

    4.  Someone to clean all the fish we catch

    5.  Dinner ready when I get home

Now for the things that cost money!

    6.   A bigger boat (14′ deep vee for fishing and duck hunting)

    7.  A new ruger 10/22 with custom target stock

    8.  Something to organize my camo better

    9.  A chronograph for speed testing my archery equipment

    10. A new full reloading station, so I can save on ammo

The one last thing I would really like is for a big group of readers for my blog and listeners for the podcast!  Up North Journal

If dinner is ready, give me a call…I’m hungry too.

Hope you had a nice Father’s Day Mike. Jamie and I went to the range and shot for 2 hours. It’s the first time he’s been out in about 2 years and he had a blast shooting the 10/22, SingleSix and 38Special. That was a nice Father’s Day gift. You know what I would someday like to get for Father’s Day from my 18 year old daughter? A simple “Thanks dad”. I’m still waiting.

Well I did get one thing that I wanted for father’s day and that was to go fishing. This time I went fishing by myself although my daughter, who is 3, cried her eyes becuase daddy didn’t take her fishing. I told her that when I got back I would take her out on the pontoon boat fishing but she wanted to go right then. I love taking my kids fishing but every so often I like to go out by myself fishing and father’s day was one of those days. Now unforunately I didn’t get to take her out fishing becuase the wind had really picked up by the time and got back and when it is windy it is extremly hard to dock the pontoon boat but I will keep my promise and take her fishing. Probably next weekend.
